Even during hard times, people found things to be thankful for - like safety, friendship, or a warm meal. Keep a gratitude journal for a week, writing down at least three things each day that you are grateful for, imagining what someone in wartime might have appreciated. 

This helps you build a positive mindset and understand how people stayed hopeful during the war.
