We have been learning about our rights and responsibilities. The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) is an important, legally binding agreement signed by 196 countries (as of 12 July 2022) which outlines the fundamental rights of every child, regardless of their race, religion or abilities.
"Every child has rights, without discrimination of any kind against the child, parent, or legal guardian" (Article 2)
Please have a look at some of the UN right's below and choose one to discuss with your child. What does this right mean to them? What does it mean for children around the world? Once you have discussed it with your child, please ask them to create a poster all about this right. You can present it how you wish, for example, on paper or digitally. Don't forget to include Rio, our rights respecting reindeer!
