The children have all been very excited this week and enjoyed telling us all about the fun they had in the snow!

We have focused on persuasive writing techniques in literacy and we looked at persuasive slogans such as 'buy one get one free', the children also came up with some of their own.

Our numeracy focus this week has been money. We have been finding totals of amounts within £1, £2, £5 and £10. For homework this week please could you encourage your child to have some practice at counting out various amounts of money using coins and notes. You could do this by getting them to count out money from money boxes, letting them play for things at the supermarket or even by setting up a play shop!

Times Table Challenges.

From next Friday Year 2 pupils will be focusing on the 5 times tables and Year 3 children will be focusing on the 3 times tables. Please practice these at home with your children as much as possible as it is so important that they know these by heart for lots of other areas of numeracy.
