Welcome to Year 4 class pages.

Our theme this term is ELEMENTS and we have created a class mind map as part of our Rich Task planning process.

We are looking forward to learning about FIRE, AIR, EARTH and WATER.

Year 4 Science Investigation

We have been working at a Balloon Rocket investigation. We made a balloon rocket and then thought of ways to make the balloon rocket go further. Next we wrote down our ideas and made predictions. After that we made sure the test was a fair test, took measurements and wrote our results in a table. It was awesome!

WELSH WEEK

Black Bart the Welsh pirate came to Cila. We learnt fantastic facts about the life of a pirate. It was amazing!

Mabinogion - Story telling and drama workshop

WORLD BOOK DAY 2019

What an effort! Everyone dressed up as a favourite character and we played Book Bingo, completed Word Searches and wrote character profiles. We also visited Killay Library.

A Visit to the Senedd, Cardiff

We had a fantastic day at The Senedd in Cardiff Bay. While we were there we learnt about the roles of various AMs, talked about issues that are important to us in Wales and took part in a debate.

The Senedd building was modern and spectacular both outside and inside.

SENEDD VISIT

As part of the Swansea City AFC Ambassador programme, Leon Briton has been into our class where we took part in some maths challenges linked to 'The Swans.' It was great to meet him and we learnt so much about his career and the value of RESILIENCE. Leon shared some very important messages and life skills with us,

RSPB Activities

We had a super morning with RSPB staff who came to our school and led a Bug Hunt. We used tally charts to collect data and learnt lots of amazing facts about slugs, snails, centipedes and hedgehogs.

SUKKOT

Collaborative learning to make a sukkah. A sukkah is a temporary hut constructed for use during the week-long Jewish festival of Sukkot.

Sukkot commemorates the years that the Jews spent in the desert on their way to the Promised Land, and celebrates the way in which God protected them under difficult desert conditions. Sukkot is also known as the Feast of Tabernacles, or the Feast of Booths

Halloween Fun Day

Tonia Antoniazzi - Gower MP visits Cila

We learnt about The Houses of Parliament prior to Tonia's visit and had a host of questions ready to ask her. Tonia was incredibly interesting to listen to and answered all our questions.
