Friday 21st April

What lies beneath?

Research some famous shipwrecks including the sinking of the Titanic.

How did the ship sink? Is any of the ship still intact/preserved? Why do you think shipwrecks deteriorate faster in saltwater.

Present your findings in a poster or online presentation.

Friday 11th November

We have been learning about WW1 and remembrance in class this week. We have researched key facts and statistics and shared stories about our own personal connections to WW1/WW2.

Can you find out any more information about any relatives who fought or lived through a war. Present your findings appropriately and creatively to share with the class.

22nd September 2022

Linked to our Humanities focus, we have begun learning about different types of government. We have begun to show understanding of the main differences between:

Monarchy

Democracy and

Autocracy (Dictatorship)

For homework I would like you to complete a new 'Flip' task.

Click on the image below for further instructions about the challenge 'If I were Prime Minister...'

Remember to research your challenge carefully and plan your response before recording.

9th September 2022

Look how far we've come!

Our topic this term is humanities based and the class have decided to research governance through history, focusing on Kings, Queens and famous leaders.

We have created an EPIC plan with ideas for who and what we would like to learn about. We had such a huge variety of leaders that we need to narrow down our list.

For homework, I would like you to choose one person you would really like to learn about and create a persuasive poster to encourage the class to include them in our plan.

Think about the following:

  • presentation (online or paper based)
  • use of persuasive language
  • Interesting facts
  • Images
