Dear Parents/Guardians,
This week we have been looking at light sources and where they come from. We have been looking at what is a light source and what is not, matching these together and doing sorting activities. We have also been doing our letters and sounds and going over some of the sounds and letters we find tricky! We have been looking at capacity in maths this week and have enjoyed using the water area to fill things full, nearly full, half full, nearly empty and empty. We will be using what we have learnt this week to help us with our new topic of measuring next week. We have finished the week practicing our punctuation and capital letters.
For homework this week, during bath time, please could you give your children different sized containers to look at their capacity! They can fill them to different amounts and explore using them.
Next week we are taking part in a junk modelling competition as a class. On Monday, please can you bring in any things you have to help us. Some examples could be cardboard boxes, plastic bottles or cartons.
