Addition and subtraction word problems
This week we have been practicing word problems with 1 and 2 steps, involving addition and subtraction.
We used the method RUCSAC to support accessing word problems:
R - read it (at least twice!)
U - underline important information
C - calculation - what calculation do you need to use?
S - solve the steps
A - answer the problem
C - check it - you can use inverse or a calculator to check your work.
