  • Scooters have arrived at Cila Primary School!!

    Wed 04 Sep 2019

To support our children’s health and wellbeing, we have actively supported and purchased playground games and equipment for our pupils.

A Health Promoting School is defined by the World Health Organisiation as “a school that constantly strengthens its capacity as a healthy setting for living, learning and working.”

On average, children spend almost half of their day in the school environment, so it is important that all opportunities to encourage and promote physical activity during that time are utilised.

To increase our children’s enjoyment of play and physical activity during school, we have purchased twelve scooters for the children to use. A risk assessment will be undertaken of the conditions each time before they are used.  Children will also be expected to wear a helmet, knee, hand and elbow protective pads and sensible footwear. When children are playing on the equipment, their safety will be taken into account at all times.
