Last night all our bags of kindness were delivered to Mathews House. We are all so proud of the way in which the children have embraced this project. Click on the link below to read our story in the Evening Post.
Today we had a surprise visit from Santa. He said he was in the area checking his naughty and nice list! He heard us singing Christmas Carols so thought he would pop in to say hello. Diolch Santa!
All the bags are packed and ready for dropping off at Matthews house. We have managed to fill over 130 Christmas bags as part of our community kindness work, an amazing achievement. Well done everyone!
We all enjoyed a beautiful Christmas dinner together today, it was delicious!!
A big thankyou to Carol our school cook for making such a wonderful dinner.
Half Term Focus Week – Kindness in the Community
We are all looking forward to our focus week taking place next week. Our theme for the focus week is ‘Kindness in the Community’. The week will include looking how kindness can be spread in the community with our actions. According to mentalhealth.org.uk this is how kindness can affect the community we live in…..
How does kindness help the community?
Acts of kindness can make the world a happier place for everyone. They can boost feelings of confidence, being in control, happiness and optimism. They may also encourage others to repeat the good deeds they've experienced themselves – contributing to a more positive community.
We will be working with the children on our homeless project next week.
Our pupils have been busy writing letters to shops across Swansea to ask them to donate a range of items that can be gifted to homeless people at Christmas time. Next week, our pupils will be packing donated items into bags and sending them to the charities Matthew's House and The Wallich.
A big thank you for your generosity in kindly donating items and gift bags for our project.
Click on the link below to find some ideas on how you can spread kindness. Please let us know what you have been involved in. As a long standing partner school with Swansea City Foundation, we had an invitation to help the Swans decorate their Christmas Tree up at the training ground in Fairwood just a mile or so from school. Dan, our Primary Stars
Co - ordinator who works with the pupils, selected 4 of them to be involved based on their demonstration of good behaviour and application during his sessions. The pupils met some first team players and to helped them to decorate the Christmas tree. They did a great job!
Many thanks for all your donations of clothes to be recycled and helping us to raise £118.00
Our Challenge Week this half term is to show kindness to our community. We have decided to show our kindness to each other, and to those that are without a home in Swansea. Being homeless must be difficult throughout the year, but winter poses extra obstacles and challenges.
Our pupils have been busy writing letters to shops across Swansea to ask them to donate a range of items that can be gifted to homeless people at Christmas time. Pupils will be packing donated items into bags and sending them to the charities Matthew's House and The Wallich.
If you would like to show your kindness too, by donating some of the items from the list below to this fantastic cause, please send them into school by Friday 8th December.
Thank you so much for your support!
From everyone at Cilâ

Many thanks for your wonderful donations of cakes to help us raise £269.81 for Children In Need. We have all enjoyed our non school uniform day and raising money for this worthy cause.
We had a great time in assembly this morning learning all about how to keep safe around dogs that we are not familiar with. Claire explained how we should react if an unfamiliar dog is running towards us. She also explained some dog behaviours to us so that we have a better understanding of how a dog is feeling.
