We read the poem 'The song of the Mischievous Dog' by Dylan Thomas this week (look back in your Literacy book to remind you). Your task today is to write a poem of your own in a similar style in your Literacy books (you could draft it in your Morning Book first)

Developing, Filming and Editing Adverts
You have been working so hard on your adverts! The green-screen is going to be up in the hall for you to film, with an iPad, when you are ready. If you are not quite ready to film, use this time to learn your lines and practise your acting.
Once you have filmed, you can use iMovie to edit your advert.

We started our work on time yesterday. Today you have a cutting and sticking activity to match written times to analogue clock times - you will be given the activity that suits the level we agreed on yesterday
If you complete the task early, there is an extension task for you to stick in your book and complete, and you can play some of the time games below.

Working in groups of no more than 4, you will be creating an advert to persuade people to visit Swansea. The adverts will be filmed, using a green-screen, later in the week. Please use your Morning Books to brainstorm and plan your advert.
Remember:
*You want to show off the best of Swansea (past and present) to encourage people to visit.
*Use features of persuasive writing, and maybe a catchy slogan too!

Watch the Blue Peter video on Wallace and Gromit below - think about how many tiny changes needed to be made to piece all of the images together to make a film. Have a go at using 'Animate' on JiT5 (through J2e) to try to make your own short stop motion animation film.

Good morning Year 4 and Year 5!
You have Celebration Assembly this morning - please let Mr Caswell know if you have anything to share with the school.
After assembly is our spelling test; once you have completed it, please practise next week's words at least 5 times.
Your 9 times table test is today - please can someone give out the test books. Remember to write the short date at the top of the next clean page, and write your 9 x table out all the way to 12 x 9 =
Please ask Mr Caswell if he is able to check your answers.
Once you have completed your test, you can go onto maths games, or choose some of the tricky problems on the red table at the front of the class (if you're feeling spicy!).
Break is at 10:30

Inspirational Black Leaders
This term have been looking the inspirational Welsh leaders, Owain Glyndwr and Llewelyn the Last.
It is important to remember and celebrate the history of all cultures but, as October is Black History Month, we are going to find out about two very important black inspirational leaders.
Below are links to videos showing two inspirational black leaders, Harriet Tubman and Martin Luther King. Watch the videos and carry out some research on the websites below, then create an information poster on one of them that explains a bit about their life and shows why they are so important. You can create your poster on A4 paper, or digitally.
