Homework Friday 19th January

Thank you for your continued support with homework, the class enjoyed discussing the different places they had looked at on GoogleEarth. This week we have been busy learning about different types of houses that people live in. We talked about types of houses that we might live in such as detached houses, semi detached houses, flats, terrace houses, bungalows and cottages. The children made information posters about their homes. We started learning about different houses around the world and compared them to our own. We loved learning about igloos, tipis, tree houses and castles. We thought about what type of house we would like to live in and why. We had a great time trying to build our own homes/shelters with the den making equipment on the yard. We tried hard to make the shelters waterproof- please see pictures on our class page! The children have been focusing on measuring in math this week. 

For homework please can you go for a walk around your local area- what types of houses can you see? Can you find a detached house, semi detached house , terraced house, flat, bungalow and a cottage? Which type of house did you see the most? Which type of house did you see the least?
