Welcome to Reception/Year 1
The children have been fantastic this week and have settled back into school well; they are a credit to you and the school.
This term our new theme is 'Dwellings'. A dwelling is somewhere something lives. I am looking forward to hearing all your ideas and linking these to my planning over the next week. Thank you for your continued support, Miss Francis.
Your child will be given a designated reading day (you should have been informed of your child’s reading day via text message). Please make sure that their reading book and reading diary is in their bag on this day.
The children will be taking part in PE every Tuesday and Friday. Please ensure that the children come to school in their PE kit and suitable trainers.
Homework will be given out every Friday and will need to be returned to school the following Monday unless otherwise stated.
If you gave any questions/queries please do not hesitate to get in contact,
In class we have been learning about our rights and the UNCRC. The children were given their own Jelly babies to look after for the day. The children made sure that the Jelly babies rights were met. Each child gave their Jelly baby a name, made healthy foods and drinks for them out of Playdough and made houses for them in the construction area. They all paid a visit to the doctors to make sure their babies were healthy. The children taught them how to read, write and count. We had lots of fun!
