Dear Parents/Guardians,
There will be no spellings this week. This week we enjoyed doing persuasion activities and tried to convince Mr Squires to buy a snow machine for school. We also had a debate amongst the class on if it would be better to live underwater/jungle, be a scientist/artist or have a pet rat/snake. We gave our reasons why and tried to persuade our friends to agree with our opinions. We listened to the story 'Giraffe's Can't Dance' and discussed what we might say to Gerald when he was nervous and sad, we spoke about how he might have felt when the other animals were mean to him. We had a go at the different dances in the book and enjoyed rock n' rolling, waltzing, the tango, Scottish reel and the cha-cha. In math we practiced counting in 2's, 5's and 10's. Next week we will be looking at materials and be making some instruments. For homework please can the children practice identifying sounds, please watch the video below. Get the children to close their eyes and see if they can guess what the sounds are.
