Welcome to Reception and Year 1
I am so excited to begin our journey together this term; we have lots of fun learning to challenge and inspire us! I can't wait to make wonderful memories and share lots of laughter with you all
This term our topic is 'What lies beneath?’
We will be completing our E.P.I.C planning in class to share our interests, ideas and questions to make the learning purposeful, relevant, and fun (of course!). We will share our learning with you on our class page.
Reading
Pupils each have designated reading days. On your child’s reading day they will read their book to the class teacher/TA who will then change their book(s) if it is appropriate. Please ensure that your child’s reading book(s) and reading record are in their bag on their reading day. It is important to comment on your child’s reading in their record book, as this is a good way to track reading progress and inform us of any difficulties or achievements your child has made at home. Please note that a book may be re-sent home in order to consolidate learning and develop confidence and fluency. Reading at home with your child is extremely important.
Homework/Spelling
You will be informed about any homework sent home
Letters regarding spelling for Year 1 and sounds for Reception have been sent home. If you wish to discuss this further then please don't hesitate to contact us.
P.E.
Our P.E. days are Monday and Thursday.
Please can you ensure your child wears appropriate clothing and footwear to school on these days.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions, concerns or even to share special news and achievements at Gregoryk18@hwbcymru.net.
Important!
Please ensure that all of your child's items, including clothing, are labelled with their name, as this makes finding them much easier. Many thanks
