Language  Focus Week

‘Language’ week was enjoyed by all the pupils. The Crowman visited to tell the children stories. Everyone was captivated by the tales he told. This was a great way to start language week. Tuesday saw us celebrate our own Welsh language with drama and song. The children enjoyed acting out the story of St David and learning about Welsh myths and legends. The children also enjoyed a visit from Ynni Da, and hosted their own disco, powered by themselves through Pedal power! On Wednesday we started to learn a new language. We gave our brains a good work out by learning British Sign Language. The children have been busy practicing a part of a song to sing together using ‘sign and sing’ we are hoping to record our song this week and share it with you. We will let you know when it’s ready to watch. Thursday brought a whole host of new pupils to school including Unicorns, Matilda, and even a few dinosaurs. Thank you for supporting this day and making World Book Day a lot of fun and giving the children an opportunity to share books, recommend authors and build their confidence and apply knowledge in different contexts. Friday was our whole school Twmpath out on the yard, I am sure that you enjoyed watching the children dancing, Cylch Y Cymru, to traditional Welsh music. The video is on the school website. Click on the dragon on the ‘classes’ page to be entertained!
